Sri Utama Schools Kuala Lumpur
Report of Careers Day 26th March 2015
On the 26th of March 2015, our school organized “Career Day” for the upper secondary students, Form 4 and Form 5. Universities and colleges came to our school to set up booths and seminars to help us get an idea about our future. Among the options available were the Pre-U Program and a seminar about economics. Every piece of information we can grasp would be a vital pieces of information for our future. This year, we had universities from England, Australia, and of course Malaysia.
They set up booths in Hall E and gave seminars in our Moral Room. However, before we could proceed with anything we had to fill in an entry form to go to the booth in Hall E and sit for a seminar by MCKL about their Pre-U Program. After the seminar about the Pre-U Program by MCKL College, we were given the option of whether to sit and listen to more seminars or proceed to visit the booths in Hall E.
Booths are basically little areas where the universities and colleges set up tables and banners to promote their college or university by giving talks and a lot of freebies. This year we had 5 seminars from different colleges, these were the Pre-U program given by MCKL College, a seminar about Economics by Nottingham University, a talk titled “Made to Design” by Raffles University, a seminar by KDU about “Tourism and Hotel Management”, and finally a presentation by Help University about “Study of IT”. We gained a lot of experience and knowledge from this and definitely look forward to next year’s “Career Day”.
